DXB302 WEEK 11 PROGRESS

WEEK 11 PROGRESS:
During this week we had a milestone presentation where we gathered feedback from our tutor. We all attempted to have our spreads done by this point to show as much work as we can. The feedback we received was about text size (particularly making the text smaller), column widths (too large, doesn't allow for easy readability) and general comments about the consistency of our layout, which I agreed with.

This week I continued working on the titles and experimented with ink and a calligraphy pen which I found really effective. I decided this is the path I was going to take for the rest of the headings.
At this point all of my spreads are done, I'm just waiting for the rest of the spreads so I can work out the table of contents numbering and finish that page.

I began getting quotes for printing services and went into the store chosen to view paper types and thicknesses. The paper types chosen were a 200gsm Silk cover and 150gsm Silk inner pages. I found this really beneficial as I got to see the paper before we printed on it. The printing service we are using to print Horizon Magazine is Sn@p.
While I was at Sn@p I decided to print a test page and noticed the bleed wasn't completely to the edge and some elements were awkwardly cut off, this was beneficial as it prevented the same issue happening in the final print, problem avoided!
